About Me
I am a native upstate New Yorker, and earned my Bachelor's of Science at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 2010.
After graduating, I worked in outdoor education for a year with the NYS-DEC as well as a non-profit known as Nature's Classroom. I began my Ph.D. in 2011 in a Conservation Genetics lab at the University of Nevada, Reno after realizing that I wanted the flexibility of being able to work in multiple ecosystems with a variety of taxa. After defending my dissertation in 2017, I worked as a lab manager and postdoctoral researcher for applied and conservation-based work as well as tackling questions focused on the ecology and evolution of species. |
In my spare time, I am an avid runner, hiker and biker! I enjoy camping and outdoor adventure time with my husband (Jake) and Boxer Collie dog (Brewer). I also love to bake, read, buy new houseplants and go birding.
